Trip to Sagamore Hill

Yesterday we took a family drive to Oyster Bay to tour Sagamore Hill. We had taken a tour of Theodore Roosevelt's home in January when my parents were visiting but hadn't made it through the museum section of Theodore Roosevelt's son's home or the nature trail out to the bay. It was a beautiful day and so nice to be out and about. Seth & I love going to museums and Clare (aka: Junior Park Ranger) seemed to enjoy the outing as well. Home of our 26th President Sagamore Hill was considered the "Summer White House". It is absolutely beautiful. Here's the website for information http://www.nps.gov/sahi/ it's a fun place to check out while visiting Long Island I would definitely suggest the tour of Theodore Roosevelt's home. He was such an amazing person. picture of the home I have posted is actually his son's home that was built later. The family home is a little walk away on the estate.

A beautiful day at Citi Field!

In the high 80's it was a beautiful day for a baseball game! We had tickets for the Mets and were lucky to have a nice shady seat and a cool breeze in the new stadium. It really is a nice stadium and field and I couldn't have asked for a better day. Clare did very well and made some little friends at the game. She was excited whenever anything happened and the crowd would cheer and then decided to take a nap at about the 7th inning.

Earth Day

Some pictures I love from our trip to Washington. There are so many I'm still going through them! Our recycling in the area isn't great but I have been using my canvas/reusable grocery bags religiously!
I love taking scenery pictures. I have so much fun with it. One of my favorite flowers is the Easter Lily. In Washington they would bloom in April around Easter. Once in a while I would pick a bouquet as a kid. The thing is that once picked they don't bloom again. So I would never pick them all, just one. Now I don't pick any. They are very simple but delicate. I took these with Clare in the Ergo. There's also a picture with an Eagle flying in front of the house, a heron at Capital Lake & the Oyster barge on the beach . Happy Earth Day!

Clare's Cut

Clare was born with a head of dark hair. It has been lightening up a little and definitely growing. After our trip we decided to give her a little trim. She had a few pieces that had gotten really long.

Lucy & Clare: March WA

During our trip last month we were able to meet Lucy! She's a week older then Clare. Who would have thought I would have been pregnant the same time as one of my best friends, and our girls would be born within just a few days?! No we didn't plan it. =) Christy has been one of my best friends since high school and I loved sharing being pregant with her. There are so many rules about pregnancy (ie. peanut butter vs no peanut butter, fish, what to register for, BPA free bottles... the list goes on and on). Thank God for Christy. She helped me with so many things and is truly an amazing person. Her strength motivates me so much! She's one of the people I can call when I'm frustrated about something, when I've found a great recipe, when I'm not sure what brand hair straightener to buy or when I've made a milestone on the scale =) Thanks Christy for being a true friend!
Meeting Miss Lucia Grace was so much fun. She actually looks like one of the porcelain dolls and I must say has a great personality. It was so much fun to have Clare & Lucy together. We were able to meet up a few times on our trip. We cooked dinner at Christy & Randy's on Lake St. Claire one of the nights, met in downtown Olympia for some shopping & coffee, & had a play date at my parent's home. The pictures are to cute.

Washington Trip: Tristin & Clare

I can't believe how fast kids grow & change. Tristin is now a year & a half. His birthday is the middle of September so it's amazing to see him about a year older then Clare. He is such a ham! Clare loved watching him & it was so great to see everyone. Misty has been such an amazing friend & cousin. She & Trent are doing such a great job as parents and I feel so blessed to have them in our lives.

Trip to Washington: Visiting with Grandpa Steve & Grandma Claremay

It was the first time Clare had met her Great Grandfather Steve & Great Grandmother Claremay. We had such a good time seeing them & Clare loved every minute!

Visit to Washington- Happy 90th Grandpa!

We've had so much happen the past month. And so many pictures to go through. I'm still working on them when I get the chance but with traveling, appointments and the weather change (finally getting to be Spring=)) I have been putting updating the blog on the side. So many fun pictures!
Last month Seth, Clare & I flew to Washington state. Seth stayed out with us for a week and then went to WA DC for a conference before traveling back to Long Island while Clare & I stayed in WA at my parent's house in Olympia. We had so much fun introducing Clare to family & friends. During the visit we celebrated Grandpa John's 90th birthday. He looks good. Taking care of himself and sharp as a tack! A very strong man and continues to run the concession stand at Ed Wheeler Field. I hadn't seen some of my cousins on my Dad's side of the family for so long. It was really nice & I am so proud of both my cousin Robin & Aunt Jaye. You girls look great!
